Antique Rosaries 1

Like an exquisite piece of antique jewelry, this is a stunning example of a mid-1800s Napoleon III era rosary from France. Beautiful hand cut garnet colored beads, in a deep, deep red make this rosary absolutely gorgeous. The highlight though, is the puffed heart center and incredibly detailed hollow crucifix. Both have French hallmarks to indicate sterling silver and are in perfect condition. The chain and intricate beadcaps on the Pater beads are also silver. This rosary is a rare treasure, as few of this quality are found in such beautiful condition. The rosary is 15" when laid flat and could very carefully be used.

This is one of the most beautiful puffed heart centers- with great details. J for Jesus and M for Mary- note the cross at the top of the center.

What a treasure this rosary is! Beautiful sparkling cut crystal beads in a beautiful calming blue with lovely little extra medals at each of the Pater beads. The detailed crucifix, center and each little medal are hallmarked for silver. You can still see traces of gold gilt, but mostly the tone is of the silver beneath. Each little medal along with the center have Mary on one side and Jesus on the other. Delicate in appearance, this elegant rosary is sturdy enough for use. What an incredible antique rosary! It would make a beautiful gift for someone who appreciates the workmanship of antique rosaries. Rosary is 17 1/2" long when laid flat.

Exceptional coral colored glass beads are the highlight of this sweet antique French rosary. Mid to late 1800's - note the brass heart shaped Miraculous Medal center, the image is reversed from today's centers indicating an early age on this one. Simple pressed brass crucifix is only one inch in length- the rosary itself is 15 1/2" when laid flat. This would be a perfect rosary to place in the hands of an antique doll or keep close to admire its gorgeous color and age. It is delicate and can't take daily use.
