Beautiful little antique Art Nouveau silver rosary, with a French hallmark for silver content on the center, there is a flaw with this little beauty, the beads are out of order and missing one of each type- there are only 58 little round beads and 11 of the lovely spacers. If you can overlook this, you will love this sweet little rosary from the late 1800s or early 1900s. I think the crucifix may be silver plated, but the rest of the rosary is sterling. I do not test, as that is a destructive process but the center is hallmarked for silver and the wear is consistent with solid silver rather than plated. This delicate rosary measures 16" in length when laid flat. The center and each little spacer have a beautiful profile of Jesus on one side and Mary on the other. I almost never put rosaries on that are missing beads, but this is too sweet of a rosary to put in the "tear apart" box!

It never ceases to amaze me that something this tiny survives the years! A real treasure, this sweet little rosary is only 4 1/2" long and just as beautiful as can be. I believe it is from the first two decades of the 20th century but could be a little older than that. There is a punchmark for silver on the bail of the crucifix and the little beads are a deep and gorgeous blue. They resemble lapis lazuli but I see no pyrite crystals in the beads- almost all lapis has tiny golden pyrite crystals. So, I am saying they are art glass, designed to look like lapis. This would be a wonderful little rosary to carry everywhere with you- you'll just need a tiny pill box to put it in. Sweet as can be!

Gorgeous, high quality antique Art Deco rosary with beautiful cut crystal beads. The Pater beads are larger than the Ave beads and each link has the extra circular link that prevents kinking- this is a wonderful rosary! 22" long when laid flat, this rosary has a nice weighty feel to it. The gilt is a little worn from use but has no tarnishing. The reverse of the crucifix is plain, but the reverse of the center medal has Jesus carrying the cross. A lovely rosary!
